Larry Templin, CPA
Larry Templin has worked in the health care industry his entire career beginning in 1992. Larry's experience has not only made him a leader at preparing and filing Medicare and Medicaid cost reports and preparing monthly and quarterly financial statements for owners, he is also an expert at reporting financial statements, borrowing bases and covenant compliance to lenders, analyzing and valuing acquisition opportunities, seeking and placing financing for nursing facilities and preparing projections. Larry is also very familiar with Point Click Care, among other accounting software programs, so he is able to quickly assist clients remotely.
Larry began working in public accounting in Chicago, IL for the large regional firm of Altschuler Melvoin and Glasser (formerly American Express Tax and Business Services, Checkers Simon and Rosner, and Goldberg Geiser). There, he became an audit manager specializing in long-term care and non-profit clients. After 10 years with the firm, he accepted a position as Chief Financial Officer for a nursing home client where he was responsible for all financial aspects of 3 nursing homes totaling about 750 beds from 2002 to 2007. From 2007 to 2012, he served as the Director of Accounting for the largest privately owned nursing home chain in Illinois comprising of 88 nursing home and assisted living facilities. There, he established an in-house cost reporting division, trained staff and managed the accounting department which prepared over 140 cost reports annually. In addition, Larry was able to close over 20 mortgage loans totaling approximately $115 Million, and $20 Million in Lines of Credit, all with new lenders.
